Pervasive (ubiquitous) computing is here -- driven in large part by the network (think fiber-to-the-home and 3G), the availability of low cost compute resources provided by cloud computing, and the current generation of mobile devices (thank you, Apple). Whatever you can imagine can be made a reality -- within reason, of course. With the technology foundation evolving rapidly, the opportunities in software application development are seemingly endless -- and quite honestly, truly exciting (even the non-geeks can get excited).
We founded Proactive Apps to create the next generation of software that fully leverages the evolving technology landscape. And honestly, we want to have fun in the process.
What drives us?
- Family first.
- Is there anything more important than family? We don't think so.
- Awareness and presence in everything you do.
- Actually being in the moment and awakening to the "now" defines our reality and is an important key to having gratitude.
- Sing and dance every day.
- Ya know ya wanna! So, go ahead, sing a song and dance like nobody's watching. There has to be at least one song that makes some part of your body move. And yes, you sound great.
- Look to the good.
- A sweet mother told us that - and it holds true so often in life. When you look for the silver lining in any challenge or obstacle in life you can heal, recover, learn and be grateful.
- Laugh a little.
- It is supposed to be good for you, after all. Really, check it out - Gelotology is the study of humor and laughter.
Get a little, give a little. We believe that every one of us can make a positive impact on the world -- whether focused on society-at-large, individuals, the environment, or even the lost or abandoned friends of Huckleberry and Mr. S (unofficial mascots, officially great pets).
A minimum of 5% of the revenue we earn will be donated to charitable organizations and philanthropic efforts.
There are so many amazing charities world-wide. Here are a few of our favorites.

Marc is the proud father of two beautiful girls -- Sydney and Evie, and husband to his beautiful wife April. As if that is not enough, he is the founder of Proactive Apps -- focusing on the new opportunities presented by the ever-evolving technology landscape. He has a strong background in software product development and business technology leadership, focusing on Internet-based applications, service oriented architectures, and message-based systems. Marc's latest focus involves the burgeoning cloud computing space, and the potential of mobile devices + cloud computing + anytime, anywhere networking.
Marc holds a Bachelor of Business Computer Information Systems degree from the University of North Texas and a Master's in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
April is the amazing mother of Sydney and Evie, and once-in-a-lifetime wife to Marc (yes, Marc wrote that part). She has a strong background in sales and marketing, and is an accomplished photographer. Upon joining the Dallas Observer, April quickly became the top sales person, garnering sales person of the year. After her stint in direct sales, she successfully partnered with her father to create a highly successful Dallas-based photography studio -- and went on to create her own studio to focus on her creative interests and afford more time with her family. After years of "Blackberry bashing" at Marc's expense, she experienced the "a-ha" moment when she got her hands on an iPhone. Now, there is no looking back..
April holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas. Hook 'em, Horns!
Sydney and Evie are our two interns-in-training (not really, but we tell them that so they get excited about what we are doing). We bounce ideas off of them, ask them for their "killer iPhone app ideas", and let them do play testing for us. But more importantly, we get to take breaks and play with them. Who needs water cooler talk or office gossip when you can read Curious George or play Barbie.
